oCAS (Community Service) Activities during the summer

For students who wish to participate in community service activities during the summer, there are no forms to complete. Just keep track of what you did and a contact person (email and phone number). Early next fall, we will show you how to enter the information into our new electronic system. It is optional for students to participate in community service over the summer. Our focus is moving away from a set number of hours from freshmen to encouraging students participating in one activity per month if possible. We will meet with students at the beginning of next year to explain everything. Our new CAS guide will be provided at that time. We will also explain everything at our fall parent meeting.

oCAS Advisory Groups Introduction

Starting next year, we will place all students into small groups consisting of 9th-12thgrades. Each small group will meet on a regular basis with an IB Teacher. The purpose of the creation of the groups is not only to support CAS activities and procedures but to make sure that our 9thand 10thgrade students have an important connection with our program. More information will be provided next fall.

Immuniations Update
Image

I have advertised on the Mustang Newsletter, sent delinquent letters home with 6th grade report cards on April 30th and we hosted the immunization clinic. (only 7 students attended) Currently, I have received 35 shot records from parents/students but I still have over 150 students who will not be able to start 7th grade on August 24th

Thank you,
